04/03/2007 A visit to Snowy Mountains Models.

While in Melbourne over the weekend of 17th-18th Feb 2007, Neil Eddy drove me around to some of Melbourne's Hobby Shops.

One of the highlights was a visit to Snowy's. This shop is located on the west side of Melbourne. 13 Harrington Square Altona 3018.
They have a great range of kits. Both new and second hand. A very good after market range. While there Steve, the owner, was very busy out the back. He was getting all the aftermarket orders from their latest sale out for mailing to customers. They also have a very large range of decals. More than I had ever seen in a shop before. Snowy's is not just a walk in shop. Their website is great and their service just as good. 

A great highlight of this visit was to meet Tim Carroll. Picture on the left above. Tim has a page on this site with his builds. I also got to see Tim's builds with my own eyes. Snowy's has a display case with builds from the guys who work in the shop. I tell you Tim's builds are superb when you see them in the flesh. They look great on this site but are better when you see them for yourself. And he has builds on display at the shop that are not yet on this site. :-)

I really enjoyed my visit to this shop. If you are not from Victoria and you are visiting Melbourne this shop is a must see. Make sure you have plenty of money with you.
Wish I had more spare cash to spend while I was there. :-(
