Welcome to my photo file of the 2006 RAAF Richmond Airshow.

Over the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of October 2006 the Royal Australia Airforce
celebrated 85 years of service with an Air Show. This was held at RAAF Base Richmond. This base was at one time known as Ham Common and aircraft have been flying from here for 90 years. This base is North West of Sydney. This was the first established base in New South Wales and the second base established in Australia.

My youngest daughter, Lilly, and I attended the Sunday show. What a great Air Show. For the me the ‘goose bump’ effect came from seeing the Spitfire Mk.VIII, Gloster Meteor F.8, English Electric Canberra TT.18 and DH-115 Vampire T35 flying. These came up from Temora Aviation Museum for the Air Show. Lilly’s favourite one was the F-111 doing it’s dump and burn.

On the tarmac were many static displays from vintage military vehicles, Helicopters, vintage aircraft to current serving RAAF aircraft.

I did take some in flight photos but my poor little digital camera is not up to that
sort of photography. So I took lots of details (walk around) shots when I could. The crowds made it very hard to get good shots at times.

So onto the photos. On this page will be general Air Show photos. Also you will see links to pages for the detail (walk around) shots pages. These should be of some
use to model makers.
