Péronnes Tour 2006.
The WW I Belgian Gang - Philippe
Spriesterbach, Fred Liefferinckx and myself - started from La Louvière,
Belgium, at 10:00 am. We arrived in Péronnes at 11:30 and met our
friends Philippe Jourdan, the big boss of Hi-Tech, his son Julien, his
daughter Julie, Dominique Gennard and our Canadian friend Tom "Doc"
Morgan in a little pub in front of the
Historial of Péronnes, where we drink a French café that was welcome
after the long road.

Scoop: you can see her the pieces of
the future 1/32 Albatros D V from Hi-Tech.
Look carefully at them: there are not the definitive ones; the
definitive version will be better...

Fred Liefferinckx and Philippe
Jourdan are speaking about the not yet released Hi-Tech D.V.

In the meantime, Philippe
Spriesterbach is showing to Doc Morgan his 1/72 Schneider (full
scratch...)

The Historial of Péronnes.

All the gang (except me, but I was
taking the photo...): Julien Jourdan, Julie Jourdan,
Philippe Spriesterbach, Dominique Gennard, Tom Morgan, Fred Liefferinckx,
and Philippe Jourdan.

Inside the museum...
After the museum, we go to Cappi and
the fields near the Somme River.

Here is the field were Manfred von
Richthofen landed his plane.

Philippe Jourdan is resuming the
dogfight.

In back of us, the direction where MvR came from.

We moved to the low fields. Here is
the location where MvR can possibly hit
by a ground fire, when maneuvering to go to back to the German lines.

Same location, but with more light
(the weather was bad, cold, and light was changing
from minute to minute).

Ehe group. We had a long discussion
about all the theories regarding the death of the Red Baron.

A last photo of the Somme river. The
location was really full of emotion. It was like if
we can hear the sounds of the guns, the explosions of the bombs, the
voices, cry of the soldiers, and all that blood.

We ended the trip in another pub in
Péronnes. Of course, the presence of Belgians made unavoidable the
degustation of a good Belgian beer.
It was a nice day for all of the participants. The occasion to meet some
friends, and to discover new ones.
