Added 16/08/2008. Amodel SPAD SA4 in 1/72.

This is the Amodel Spad A4. Not a difficult kit to build. I built it OOB with added belts and harness. All national markings are Micro scale. Rigging is Ethicon stainless steel. The model is painted in MM sand and wood. The outer struts are scratched as the kit parts were unusable.

 


Added 21/03/2008. Amodel SPAD SA4 in 1/72.

 This is the Amodel SPAD SA4 in 1/72. This kit was built in three days, and is #11 for the year.

Built OOB with added lead foil seatbelts. Rigged with Ethicon stainless. The scraf ring is scratched from copper wire. Model is painted with Model Master Panzer Interior Buff and Radome Tan. All decals are from the kit.


Added 02/04/2007. Joystick 72nd vac-u-form kit of the Sopwith Bat Boat.

This is the Joystick vac-u-form kit of the Sopwith Bat boat. The kit was a gift, and had sat in a drawer for three years after having cut out the wings.

The model is painted with Model Master Italian Brown, Tamiya clear Orange, and Panzer interior buff. Rigging is Ethicon.005 surgical steel. The beaching dolly is scratched as are the seats and the control horns. Lead foil seat belts were added. The wingtip floats are old Ilya Muromets fuel tanks that have been shortened. The boom is Evergreen .035 rod, and struts are Contrail strut stock.


Added 25/03/2007. Classic Planes 72nd vac kit of the Hansa Brandenburg "CC".

This is the Classic Planes vac kit of the Hansa Brandenburg "CC". The kit was a gift and was completed in six days.

The model is painted with Ceram Coat Brown Iron Oxide, and Model Master Panzer interior Buff mixed 50/50 with Model Master flat white. All national markings are from Americal Gryphon. The rigging is .005 Ethicon stainless steel. The seat is a Rosemont resin A/H seat. The prop, m/g,windscreen and engine are all from the spares box.


Added 17/01/2007. Pegasus 1/72 scale Breguet XIV B2.

This is the Pegasus 1/72 scale Breguet XIV B2. Built with minor improvements.
Tubular structure was added to the interior, as well as seat belts and a sling for the rear gunner.
All decals are from the kit. The model was finished in six days and rigged with Ethicon stainless steel.
Special thanks to Ken Henderson for the kit, and to Andrei, Diego and Karl for their constant support and encouragement.
The model was rigged in accordance with the instruction sheet and with help from the pictures on the net.
 




Added 10/01/2007. Four 1/72  Eduard Nieuport 17s. All in Flyboy markings.

This is the Special Edition Eduard Flyboys Nieuport 17.
The schemes and personal markings are all fictitious and represent aircraft flown on the movie Flyboys.
The kits themselves are wonderful.
They fall together. Built OOB and rigged per the instructions diagram. Finished in Floquil Platinum Mist.

Added 11/12/2006. Added 2 Toko 72nd Nieuport 11 builds.

 These are Toko kits both finished as a Nieuport 11 (no headrest).
Not a lot of detail to start with, but for us OOB builders it will suffice.
Seatbelts were added to the interior, and control horns to the tail surfaces.
The models were painted Panzer Interior Buff (CDL) and French Earth Brown and European Dark Green (Bronze Green).
They were rigged with .008 Ethicon stainless. All decals are from the kit. They make a nice addition to my Nieuport collection.



Added 04/02/2006 scratchbuilt Fokker EIII

This is a scratchbuilt Fokker EIII. Made from Cleveland Design plans. Rigged with HSS. Painted with Model Master and Floquil paint.


Added 04/01/2006 1/72 scale ICM Ilya Muromets.

Yes Bill built this one and the Maquette one side by side.

This is the ICM ILya Muromets.  The tail skid, gas tanks, horizontal stabilizers and windows have
all been replaced or upgraded per Woodmans drawings.
I added the Dako Sikorsky as a comparitive.  The Ilyas horizontal is bigger than its wingspan.

 
      



Added 04/01/2006 1/72 scale Maquette Ilya Muromets.

This is the Maquette Ilya Muromets. Built with a few minor improvements. Rigged with Ethicon stainless.
 National markings are Rosemont.

 
    


Added 01/02/2006 1/72 scale 12 Squared DFW "Floh".

Rigged with Ehticon stainless, painted RLM 65 and 02. Markings are Americal Gryphon.

Eduard 1/72 Junkers J1 (J4).

The model was masked with Silly Putty, and covered in Eagle Strike five colour lozenge.
Model Master RLM colors were used for the painted parts.
